RetroFunding 4 targets onchain builders who have contributed significantly to Optimism’s Superchain ecosystem. The goal is to reward developers who have deployed impactful onchain contracts across OP Mainnet, Base, Zora, and other OP chains. To qualify, contracts must have had notable activity between January and May 2024, engaging a minimum of 420 unique addresses and demonstrating sustained use. This round is designed to enhance the scalability and utility of Optimism's growing blockchain ecosystem.
To participate in this round, projects must meet several key criteria:
KYC compliance is mandatory, and applicants need to confirm no residence in sanctioned countries.
Unlike previous rounds, RetroFunding 4 relies heavily on objective impact metrics to judge projects. Voting is conducted by Optimism badgeholders, who assess the technical contributions of onchain projects rather than their speculative potential. This ensures that projects with measurable influence on network activity and growth are prioritized.
Successful applicants will receive their grants streamed over 100 days via Superfluid, starting after the conclusion of KYC procedures in July 2024.
Submissions must strictly follow these guidelines:
