What is an Ecosystem Project Idea?

An Ecosystem Project Idea is an idea for a project that someone could build within the Optimism ecosystem. As opposed to an Ecosystem Concept or an Ecosystem Idea, an Ecosystem Project is generally more fleshed out and corresponds to a relatively clear product to be built.

Summary

The Superchain is a concept for a system in which many chains interoperate smoothly to function, as much as possible, like a single blockchain. This is the next major step to scale blockchains while doing as much as possible to hide the complexity of multiple independent blockchains from the end user.

One of the main goals of the Superchain is to blur the lines between networks and create a seamless user experience to access any dapp on the combined Superchain. A key component of this experience will be within the wallet. Most major EVM wallets were not designed with the multi-chain world in mind and still treat L2s as second-class citizens.

We need a Superchain frontend that can be enabled for any OP Chain within the Superchain as soon as it's deployed. The Keplr wallet from the Cosmos ecosystem may be valuable inspiration.

Possible Features

• Give users a seamless experience that hides the existence of multiple blockchains
• Show users a single balance across all OP Chains within the Superchain
• Allow users to interact with any chain within the Superchain without needing to switch networks
• Show aggregated wallet analytics for all OP Chains

Impact

• We can't realize the vision of the Superchain without creating a seamless user experience
• New OP Chains that join the Superchain automatically benefit from the seamless wallet experience
