On MySpace, users could set their “top 8 friends” to appear on their profile. This feature had a lot of eyes on it, and drove a bunch of social interaction. It still drives nostalgia today:

An attestation-based “top 8” could be a cool ~viral social feature to drive fun, but real attestations to ATST and possibly provide the grounds for other builders to build a social app on top of.

Possible Features

• I attest to people in my top 8
• I have some way to roll people on/off & ensure that I never have more than 8 in my top 8.
• Possibly use “mutual attestations” to “verify” top 8 standing (i.e. if Michael and Lindsay are both in each other’s top 8, then it’s a stronger attestation & identity signal)
• A cool frontend where you look someone up and see their top 8 & also see whose top 8 you’re in. We could also use Optimist NFTs as the profile pictures & ENS for the names
• “Sunny” is the Tom of Optimism Top 8
