The FOAM team has contributed technically to the Optimism Collective by using the OP-Stack to fork and spin up a local OP-Devnet, 5 Proof of Location contracts have been deployed for testing. We also created a custom plug-in for Hardhat that allows developers to write and test OP-Stack rollups contracts and L1 and L2 interactions. The FOAM team has also provided developer feedback to OP Labs. Proof of Location is a new unlocked primitive for novel applications bringing mindshare, awareness and new ideas to OP.FOAM represents the first DePIN (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network) network to build on Optimism bringing fault-tolerant location data onchain to the Superchain. This has a signaling effect on the rest of the web3 ecosystem, that Optimism can be a hub for DePIN networks.
FOAM’s contributions to the Optimism Collective are new, foundational, and complex. Proof of Location will take time for these novel investments into Optimism to materialize.
